Commenting on the reason behind the commission, a spokesperson for the home said: “We have found that art work appeals and attracts a lot of attention and can be very therapeutic.”
Following the request, pupils from the school designed a fantastic piece of art centred around the theme of dignity.
It depicts Carrickfergus Castle with soldiers outside carrying flags.

The piece was created by GCSE students, overseen by head of the art department, Gillian Long.
Meanwhile, Carrickfergus Manor also recently held an afternoon tea party to raise funds and awareness for the Alzheimer’s Society.
Over £100 was raised for the older people’s charity during the event.
