Convicted wife killer Trevor McCandless attacked new partner outside her place of work in Cookstown
Trevor McCandless, 53, whose address was given as Maghaberry Prison, pleaded guilty to attacking the woman in the Molesworth Street area on the afternoon of January 8.
Police were called to the store by staff who had reported a fellow employee had been assaulted by her partner.

Hide AdOfficers attended the MUST Hostel, where McCandless had been residing, and the defendant “expressed remorse” for the incident.
McCandless murdered his wife Zara in a frenzied stabbing attack at their home in Coleraine in May, 1998. The couple’s eight year-old son was present during the horrifying incident.
District Judge, Bernie Kelly, sentenced McCandless to two months in prison for the Cookstown assault.
