Major fish kill on the Three Mile Water
Around 600 dead fish have been recovered from the river since 6pm. The majority of dead fish are fry trout and salmon, although a number of adult fish have also been recovered.
Members of the Northern Ireland Environment Agency are currently at the scene conducting tests.
At this stage it is unclear what caused the kill.

“It is very disappointing to see this amount of dead fish in the river,” said vice chairman Andrew Moore of the Three Mile Water Conservation and Angling Association. “As yet we have no idea what has caused the fish kill.
“It is unfortunate that all of these fish are wild fish, so there won’t be any natural recruitment in this area this year,” he concluded.
