He said: “Northern Ireland has a long and proud tradition in this field, consistently producing excellent pipe bands and this year proved to be no exception. “The highlights included the Field Marshall Montgomery winning a 50th major title in grade one with the PSNI, Ballybriest and Tullylagan also winning in their respective classes. Local Drum Majors also enjoyed success. “This is the result of a great deal of hard work and dedication throughout the year and I commend all the bands and drum majors who participated and wish them every success in the future.”
