Slane have built a ‘good platform’ for promotion
That’s the view of manager David Johnstone, who is desperate to see his side promoted after narrowly missing out on the final day of the campaign two seasons ago.
It’s a case of so far, so good this time round for Slane, who have won seven of their eight Intermediate B matches so far.

However, with Cup runs aplenty, they are still 12 points adrift of the league summit.
They have played seven games less than leaders Dungannon Tigers.
“There are a lot of games still to be played between now and May between league and Cups but that’s the thing about being on a good run,” said manager David Johnstone, who has seen his side beaten only four times in their last 27 outings in all competitions.

Hide Ad“We’re in a very good position. It’s the first time we’ve got off to such a bright start in this division and we’ve given ourselves a really good platform to build on after Christmas.
“With another few good results, we should at least be in the mix come the end of the season.
“There is no hiding behind anything. Anything less than promotion this season would be a disaster.”
