Four pars on the trot blow away the field and secure a win for Mervyn
Mervyn’s run started at the third and another par at the ninth gave him a two point advantage over five other competitors: Eric Wilkinson (24), Bill Murphy(19), George Heatherington (20), Stephen Wilkinson (18) and Mark Jamieson (14).
Bill finished with two pars for six points, which was sufficient to secure second place. Eric recovered from a poor start at the first two holes to shoot three pars in a row for eleven points. His steady play over the remaining holes earned him third place on count-back.
